New Tod's capsule brand video: No_Code - watch →

Dazed and Confused founder and editor Jefferson Hack recently worked with Italian luxury goods company, Tod’s, to create a shoe line that pretty much sums up his own personal style: easy, casual luxe and overall cool. Hack is after all tagged as one of the coolest men in the UK and he is the male equivalent of street style star Anna dello Russo. (read more below or click through to view video campaign)

The Tod’s project is called No_Code, a capsule collection of unisex shoes, four styles in all, in leather and suede. I especially like the suede versions in navy blue and light grey. They would go well with my uniform of white jeans and khaki trousers.

“It is a collection for the 24-hour, always on-the-move, global nomad who works and lives without boundaries,” according to Tod’s.

As for the name of the collection, Hack says, “To me No_Code is shorthand for an outsider perspective that exists beyond formal convention, living beyond rules that are imposed on you by social norms. It means breaking traditional thinking of behavior. And so, the idea of having a men’s shoe that is also for women. I love it when I see women wearing boys’ styles and looking so sexy without trying. These shoes are also day-to-night. They are so comfortable; they are the ultimate travel shoes for the 24/7 cultural nomadic lifestyle that many people are already leading.”

The collaboration doesn’t stop with just one season. “We are already working on season 2 and looking at expanding the line with some new styles. So there are plenty of new stories coming out all the time. It’s relatively easy to launch something. The key is consistency, keeping it relevant and interesting for a long time.”

A party will be held in paris on January 23 to launch N0_Code, coinciding with the Paris men’s collections. Given Tod’s and Hack’s celebrity and fashion connections, expect it to be a well-heeled affair.
